A walk didn't count

A loop didn't fill

Someone took my ground

Someone takes your hexagon by walking on it, or by closing a loop around it, and it works the same either way: one layer comes off, and the walk that finds none takes the hexagon. Nothing is ever safe because it was claimed recently — what defends ground is walking it. A claim is born with one layer, every further pass of your own adds another up to five, and layers fade a notch per fortnight without a walk. Ground you lose is worth a bounty when you walk it back. If someone's ground looks impossible, report them from their card on the map; how claims are checked explains what happens next.

Notifications

HexStride sends at most one nudge a day, at your usual hour, plus a word when a rival takes three hexagons or more from you. Nothing is sent between ten at night and eight in the morning on your clock. Turn them off in You → Nudges & alerts, or tell us if one arrived when it shouldn't have.

Delete my data

In the app: You → Privacy & data → Delete my data. Your ground, walks, streak, name and photo are removed from our server and from your phone, and the app starts fresh the next time you open it. If you can't open the app, email us from the address above and we'll do it for you.

Privacy

What stays on your phone, what the server keeps and what other players can see is in the privacy policy.
